Dont worry if you missed last weeks 'Corner' as here is your chance to catch up ....

Monday 10th November 2008

Good evening, morning, afternoon and welcome everybody to another edition of Commanders Corner.

Well its nearly over,
what..?? the purgatory that is travelling to gigs in a hire van, yes just another couple of days and it'll be back to the nice warm comfortable tour bus. You dont realise how much money you save, i must have spent over twenty quid over the past weekend just on shit...!!! Well not shit literally, i can get that stuff for free once or twice a day...!!! no i mean the extortionate sandwiches, Ginsters pasties and coffee at two pound fifty a go thats on sale at Motorway Services.........and seriously......its shit...!!!! Anyway soon be back to microwave meals and as many cups of tea you want for f**k all...!!! Well thats that rant over with, lets get on with the show.

Just three gigs to tell you of this week but before all that, take a look at this silly bastard in a box.....................

There's no gag.............i just wanted to show you what a nob 'ed looks like...!!!

First gig last week saw us travelling down the wonderful M5 again to South Wales, Swansea to be precise to perform at a place called 'Retro Live' which used to be the Chicago Rock Cafe apparently. We were also told that it was the first night the venue had put 'live' entertainment on but unfortunatly none of the people of Swansea knew about it so the audience was a bit of a dissapointment, not in enthusiasm but in numbers...............in fact during the guitar solo in the middle of 'Gangsters' i managed to count 32 people in the whole place....!!!! Nevertheless like i always say, 'The show must go on' and you need to put it out your mind that its a small crowd in front of you and still give 100% for the people that did turn up. Like most Chicago's (-(or should i say Ex-Chicago's ) the sound on stage was a bag of wank but as long as the front of house sound is ok, which it was according to the DJ, then you've got half a fighting chance...!!

About three hours after the gig we found ourselves outside a Travelodge just outside Swansea on the M4 where we happened to be staying at that night. Now it must be getting on for nearly two years now since the Badness stayed at one of these wonderful places and personally i hope its another two years before we stay in another one....Why..? I'll tell you why...!!! One word..!!!! One f**king word...!!!! JOHN...!!! Sleeping in the same room as John is like the equivalent of sleeping in the Bowls of Hell amidst a gaggle of demons screaming with a pneumatic drill on maximum buried in your ear...!!! (and thats on a good night..!!) Yes, it was my turn to share a room with John. Then in the morning, shivering and contorting, after a welcoming shave shit and shower we headed off back up the M5 to the Owley Wood Recreational Club in Weaverham, Cheshire where we were due to perform on the Friday night. Not a bad gig really, unfortunatly not that many in again but i must say it did fill up a bit as the show progressed and it was also nice to see the concert secretary in an exceptionally good mood......................................

lLooked like a f**king psycho if you ask me...!!

We returned home that night cause we were only boooooooooooooooooooooooked in Derby the following night and its always better to spend a night in your own bed..!! After picking Jan up at the station (Jan is in charge of the bands wardrobe for those newcomers to the Corner) we set off for The Rolls Royce Club in Derby on Satdy. Quite a regular gig for us this, in fact were playing here as both bands on New Years Eve and we always have a good night. Nice to see a few regular faces down there as well including Gayle and er......... err..........some other people. Anyway once again the audiance did'nt disappoint and we had another cracking night.

By the way if you ever get a bit embarressed about you name and worry if people are gonna take the piss out of ya because of your name then spare a thought for this poor bastard.............................

......and if you ever feel as though everything is going wrong and the only person that can sort it all out is a 'superhero' then just give this guy a call..........

Last night Jan and myself went to Butlins in Skeggy to see Showaddywaddy perform at the 70's weekend there. Now i've seen the 'Wads' two or three times before all over the place and i must say that despite the fact that they not spring chickens anymore they still put on a great show and after ten years Dave Tantrum finally got the opportunity to meet Dave Bartrum as well as saying hello to Romeo, Trevor Oakes, Rod Deas and Jeff Betts (who he'd already met before). I must say i did enjoy the way they've adapted the songs to fit Dave's vocal range and the cheeky medleys they've put together to incorporate a few more classic songs from their repertoire. After the show we stuck around to see what band was on after Showaddywaddy, saw who it was, stayed for a bit, wondered where their Bass player was and went home.

Well that just about wraps it up again for another week, thank you all for tuning in again but unfortunatly i have to leave you now as i'm off to change me name to 'Spiderman Magnet & Steel Hulk'.........

SEE YA NEXT WEEK
